|| Around the Web || Hot tip if you missed All About Women 2016
In it’s fourth year this year, All About Women returned to the Sydney Opera House in March 2016. I’ll be straight with you – I missed the whole thing. Didn’t see a single talk.
It was described in its website as ‘a full day of talks and discussions about ideas that matter to women and provides an important platform for women’s voices’ and had a 30 speaker deep line up which included such notables as writer/filmmaker/artist/everythingelse Miranda July, feminist writer Roxane Gay, Australian of the Year Rosie Batty, musician and actor Carrie Brownstein, games critic Anita Sarkeesian, and many more, speaking on a whole bunch of really interesting topics.
So why mention this if I saw nothing on the day? Because I have just discovered you can podcast heaps of the talks and then, in researching for this post, I found out that you can even watch video of some of them.
I recommend the Carrie Brownstein podcast about being a killer musician and writing a book, and the Margie Orford talk about leaving her three young kids for a year to follow her vocation. Click the buttons below to go to the podcasts or the videos
